Mileage update

MON-THUR mileage 140, I did not get the chance to get my long ride in this week due to weather, and a case of wussicitus. Hope to get in 25 tonight. Possibly race Sat.???? I hope to finish the week up Sunday with 40-50.
I feel it my responsibility to maintain the Righteousness and morally correct level of this blog so here goes:
Bikemonkey, so how was the shemale visit you know you ordered while in Reno!?!
D-lish tried to come up with something witty for you, I was unable to due to information overload. I no able to handle all the data entry from the oh so informative Dorka-lish web sites.
And you, calf boy...I got something for you that will really make those babies shine. It's a new product put out by Gerber baby products. It's a topical solution that promotes muscle growth in those suffering from "I still have the muscular developement of a baby". It's called Shutthehellupyouwishstickboy. Seeing ones bone structure does not count as ripped. A picture is worth a thousand words???

Bike Journal

I know my intelligence is staggering to you mortals, but I really enjoy keeping track of what I am doing for training (miles/time/heart rate/whatever you want). Here is a link to a free bicycling journal that you can customize (you can also import data from previous riding):
http://www.bikejournal.com/home.asp

I haven't explored it too much, but I think you can do charts and graphs of your progress. For a fancier version you can pay $20 a year, but the free part works for me right now.

The other cool thing is you can set up your bike club and it will track all of your club members' miles on the bike club window. The bike club is called "In-A-Tub Cycling Club" and if they ask for a password for you to get into the club it is "powdercheese".

My first SEVEN!!

It was like no other 7 miles I have ever experienced!! The Bike was spectacular.Oh yea for you blow hards a picture is worth a thousand words.

Let it Rain

Went out to ride today, it was cloudy, and 57. I was in the van driving to my start point and it began to sprinkle. I thought to myself, what would you guys do, and did the opposite. Instead of turning around and heading home to my warm dry bed where I could cuddle up with my favorite teddy bear, I unloaded the bike and hit the road.
Full of attitude and at the time dry and warm. I thought what the hell, If it ain't rainin', I ain't trainin'. I turned up the music in my ear and tuned out everything. For awhile that is. As I was about a third of the way into my ride the RAIN began. (D-lish in response to your earlier comment about meteorologists, I told you I have a HD mounted on the bike , I just tune to TWC and bingo bango wind speeds, temps, and commercials about ED.) However in this case my cold wet butt was all the info I needed to know the current conditions. I felt it was getting colder and the rain was picking up, but I had set a goal and I was not about to turn around until I hit the 14.5 mile mark. As I neared the half way point I was soaked all the way thru, and the temp continued to drop.
I pressed on to my turn around point and was delighted to find that it was still raining, cold, and now I got to enjoy the oh so adored head wind.
As I pedaled along an uninvited participant interrupted me, "hey, what the Hell are you doing out here, you moron?". I wiped the dripping rain from my nose followed by an awesome field blow and said, "wake up dude, theres no room out here for Cybil". The mental game had came into play. I grabbed the handle bars tightly, ignoring the painful tingling in my fingers and began to ride. My glasses were blurry from the rain, and my feet were numb. The road was monsoon like as rain and road spray continued to consume me. Mile after mile clicked off as I relentlessly edged myself closer to home. I lowered my gears and ran my cadence deliberately high to maintain my body temp. I rode thru hills and turns until I finally saw my destination. A sense of unbelievable satisfaction overwhelmed me as I rolled up to the van.
What doesn't kill you today will only make you stronger tomorrow. Ending Temp: 42 Wind: 12-20 Rain: lots
Distance:29.2 miles Time:1 hr 30 min
Getting out of the rain: Priceless

My first century...

I know it is nothing compared to you Cat. 1 pros, but I broke 100 miles for the week. Not an excuse, but keep in mind this is just my second week on the bike -- my HGH, steroids, and EPO have not kicked in yet.

Did a ride with my imaginary friend, Lance, this weekend, and he helped me out with some workouts for the base miles I am trying to establish during March. My goal is to kick things up the first week of April and start riding in Durango group rides once a week.

The Durango 100 is happening Sunday, July 29 this year. I am adding it to my list of goals and you are all invited if you're interested. It sounds like a fairly tame ride to Farmington, N.M. and back (the back part is the work).

Ride captain ride...
