Early Bird gets the worm

Hey you sleeping she-males, wanted to let you know I have already been out and road today. While you were dreaming of lollipops, and Barney in a thong, I was beatin the streets at 5:00 am. It was 36 degrees with no wind (that was nice). Completed 45 miles in 2 hrs 20 min. My week total is at 230 miles not counting tomorrows ride.
Does anyone think LaMoney will actually do as he said and get out and ride this weekend. He will probably peter out from that lame excuse of a pulled muscle.
Bikemonkey--- Ryan says your nothing more than a bunch of hot air, and barely recalls having ever seen you out on a bike. He says most your stories are really his---and that your only living vicariously through him.
D-lish---Hope you have time for some riding this weekend, you know in between all those Anti-whatever rallies you probably have planned.

How good things go bad

Well as we can all see the line has been crossed and we will surely be investigated by some government agency looking for indescent and lude acts on the internet. I do stress the word indescent because that is one nasty backyard you got growing there tubby. I wonder if someone ordered the half crack taco or if they got the family sized mega crack taco deluxe. That was something I did not need to see and I'm sure that andrea was the one holding the camera. As long as you both did not linger into heavy petting and adding special sauce to the taco salad, I think you will be ok with the health department. Not much more to say than put that thing away and get back on the bike freak. Oh yea, one more thing, "Gross Dude"!!!!!!!!!

Now THIS is sexy!

Training log 3/8:
  • Calorie intake: 2747
  • Calories burned: 4524
  • Saddle time: 1 hour (trainer)
  • Yoga & sit-ups: 35 minutes
After four training days:
  • 7186 calorie deficit
  • 3:15 saddle time
  • 32.5 road miles

I just do this to stay sexy

Cycling is a sport of grit, of personal challenge and finding your threshold for pain. Few can imagine the anguish and muscular strain placed on the body during an event that lasts a minimum of 5 hours at sustained speeds of more than 25 mph. Some say that cycling is the only true sport that tests individual strength, stamina, and the human limitations of endurance. Having raced at a world class level, I have proven my personal worth in the sport of cycling and demand only what is needed of my body now to lift the occasional beer and toast all of you pukes who are still trying to find that threshold that sets you apart physically. Needless to say, I will be riding at whatever pace the weakest link decides to drag his sorry ass around the course at and give pep talks to you and hold your hand when you puke up your morning pancakes with the protien supplement in them and help you pick up your derosa when you fall down from the lack of hydration in your body. I am there for all of you, I consider you my brothers and I will leave no man behind if it means I have to ride you in on my handlebars. I love you guys. Having said all that, I really just do this to stay sexy. Ride on my good men! Ride on!

Star Log: 3/7 Training

Calorie intake: 2719

Calories burned: 4693

Road work (endurance): 16.5 miles / 69 minutes / avg. cadence 86 / avg. speed 14 mph

Yoga & sit-ups: 35 minutes

After three training days:

  • 5409 calorie deficit

  • 2:15 minutes saddle time (including trainer)

  • 32.5 miles

Bikemonkey: Make fun of the calorie counting and demand that we hit the road, but the rest of us don't call walking the street corner trying to turn tricks taking care of the family, let alone "road work."

LaMoney: A coach injures his leg at baseball practice? I've been there and can sympathize, but you can admit that it was a splinter from sitting on the bench.

Kipedalin: Don't forget this is an endurance sport, fat-necked linebacker-I'll break your leg-pace might just get you to the start line, but you have to have something left for the after-race celebration.

Keep on truckin' boyeeez.

PS: Tour watchers... that is a picture of a DeRosa (like the bike I ride) and it just happens to be Bob Roll standing with it. I guess he and I are both Play School bike riders.

Bikemonkey

We can't substitute a female jersey, due to the minimum requirements. The company recommends that females down size one size for the men's. Might have her try one of yours on. I'm sure you would enjoy that. Would you mind posting it on the blog, you know for professional purposes only.

Old and Dumb

Pulled a muscle today!! believe it or not coaching. Maybe I should get back on my bike and put away the seeds!! Me on the sidelines of a Chiefs game last fall. Boys this not just a picture of cheerleaders. Notice that I am looking on the field.

Protein

I am trying to up my protein intake and have had trouble finding quick fixes for between meals because most supplement powders also have a lot of carbs. I use hammer gel during rides so I was checking out their website, and they have some good protein options - pure protein without the carbs.
Quick facts:
  1. Soy protein pre workout/race meal - cardiovascular benefits - also suggested adding it to pancake mix to up your protein in the morning.

  2. Whey protein for recovery - most rapidly absorbed protein - also helps boost immune system

Their website has great information about fueling the body before/during/after a workout.

Sample jersey link

Here is a link to check out stage one of our club jersey. It's number 16.
The In-A-Tub logo will be integrated into the flames on the chest, an American flag on the chest, Phast Corp on the collar. The bib shorts will have the same flame on them with In-A-Tub printed on the quad area, possibly the logo on the back of the short. Can you guys make sure want you want and sizes. The cost is 57.00 for jersey, 60.00 for bib. If you have the money go ahead and send it, I have to pay setup fees, art fees, and 1/2 the order up front. I am figuring on all of us buying the jersey and bib. Please let me know as soon as possible. I am going to turn in the art work & begin the ordering process by the end of this week or the begining of next.

Oh, by the way I rode today... Did you?

Vitamin G wins again

Here's Ryan allowing the other rides to enjoy the foul smell of his sweaty balls as he crosses the finish line first. Make note of the energy providing company located on the belly. He claims that his amazing success is due to the mass quantities of vitamin G he recieves from IN-A-TUB.. For those of you who don't know that is vitamin "Grease". It makes you go fast, in more than one way....

Forecast for today

I checked the forecast for all of you pukes. I say we all get out on the saddle today, even if it's only for 20 min..... I bet we ALL could do that!!!!
It's ok to go out for a night ride. I've done it twice already. Why put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
This could be the first day we all rode on the same day for the first time. Eventually we could plan cell phone calls during rides...TRUST NO ONE.
Please reply with a comment if you DO or DO Not go out today. You must also explain why you did not go out if you don't make it.

Piece of Motivation

I sent something in the mail to all of you. If you don't get something in the next day or so let me know. I went out for a ride today. I covered 35.2 miles, the wind still sucks ass. My legs were spent, but over all felt good. Man I tell you what my neck hurts like crazy. You would think a guy with a neck the size of a tree trunk could handle it. I bought a Bad Ass jersey today. It's the KU cycling team jersey.
Bikemonkey you should know I had to buy a medium bib short today. It only took me an hour to squeeze the belly rolls into it. No worries though, the ol belly plopped right out when I peeled it off.
A little birdy told me that someone went out for a ride today, no not me actually someone else "Stop the Press", it's a freakin miracle. Bad news is the birdy said there was a sore butt involved...
You know you will never hear that complaint from a career military man. They use their ass for a couple of things, one is entertainment, the other is to sit on it and daydream about how great it would be to actually use the bike seat post for riding. I would hope that one would wipe it off first.
D-lish are playschool bikes capable of going over the single digit mark in miles.
LaMoney-I have thought long and hard to come up with the perfect bike training program. You ride your bike from the house to the car, load, then unload and ride from your car to your destination. Repeat this cycle to all of your commitments throughout the day. Sit back and watch the miles add up.

Shape of an athlete

I'm back from Spring Training - sorry to miss the Monkey's displacement for a week (must be hard dealing with the mental anguish of having no spine - isn't that what the back surgery was for Nacho Man?).

For all your training talk on this site - I think you children have a long ways to go. Why? I just watched professional athletes in action, and I think I am shaped just like them. So no training for me. See you in August.

One week update

weight: 175

Total mileage for last week was 108 miles. I set two new PRs, I rode for 30 miles in one ride and broke a hundred miles. My legs are tired but feel pretty good. My upper body is still trying to adjust, arms are doing a lot better, my neck however sucks. I feel like I'm back in basic and trying to get used to wearing a kevlar helmet all day.
Goal for this week is 120 - 150 miles time and weather permitting...Of course for me that's only 3 or 4 hrs of riding.......
Challenge: LaMoney I'm calling you out, I challenge you to find the time no matter what it takes to get your bike out twice this week and ride 7 miles each time.
D-Lish No matter how hard, stick with you diet plan, it will work. There will be plenty of times your going to want to freak out from actual hunger and mentally wanting Taco Smell. Remember it's a life choice, a different way of living from the normal fattys in America. We have plenty of time to get fat latter. This is not a sacrifice, the rewards you will gain on the bike from the weight loss will make you forget the times you struggled with your nutritional transition. Also, I challenge you to do 2 a days twice this week.. Do some form of exercise for 30 minutes in the morning before you eat or drink anything. Also do a afternoon or evening workout.
Bikemonkey- Hell I don't know, do what you do... Bet you can't ride over 120 miles this week. I know excuses, excuses--kid, work, wind, etc..
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WIFE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have all those also. Not to mention I'm no where near the rider you are. I should never out train you in a week. lol. Of course if I was good enough to ride a century without training, I probably would. Not.. I'm trying to make cycling a part of my life.
