Intervention

Stumbled upon this in my wife's mental health resources. Took the time to summarize the article so we can help Bikemonkey deal with his delusions:
  1. Help him to admit that he is not an almighty cyclist

  2. Drive him to believe that his sanity will be regained when he accepts his mortal cyclist level

  3. Encourage him to accept that he will be resorting to sucking our wheel during the ride

  4. Assist his efforts to let go of the past and live with his snail-like riding pace

  5. Awaken his spirit to acknowledge the dead weight anchor he will be to our team

Bikemonkey: We're here to help, and since quotes are a popular blog tool as of late repeat after Stuart Smalley...
"I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggonit, people like me!"

I am so glad that I have friends like you. To hold me and to tell me that everything will be alright. I so long to be as good as I was but then again you all would not be able to keep up and life would just totally suck for you if that were the case. As it stands you will have a chance to at least suck my wheel for 30 or 40 miles until the pain becomes unbearable and you must stop to hug a tree or eat a taco or perhaps coach a ballgame along the way to recover. D-lish that was classic and I warrant your efforts. I will come back with a vengeance my good man so stand by o ye king o the bark biters.
