Blog 101

The unOfficial Blogging for Idiots Guide

  1. Register - you have to register to comment or post on the blog (make sure you are logged in if you are having troubles)
  2. Viewing the site - anyone can view so send the blog link to whomever - http://hotterthanhellriders.blogspot.com/
  3. Posts - this is the beginning of a conversation. Use a post to start talking about whatever you want ... while posting you can insert pictures or web site links (look at the tools/buttons at the top of the post editor). Again, only people I (D-Lish the Blog Master) invite can make original posts so if there is someone you (simpletons) want added, just send me their email.
  4. Links in posts - you can just paste a link in your text (http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=chc) or you can highlight some words and then click the link tool/button and paste the URL in there. This gives some interaction to your post and takes advantage of the information superhighway.
  5. Commenting - this is how we continue the conversation started in a post. Anyone who is registered can add comments - if your friends want to read and comment to make fun of us, they will have to register.
  6. Reading posts - if you click on the title of the post (on the right - archive list), you will be given a screen that shows all the comments in order below the post. This is how you can see the conversation happening from others. Add your comment to keep the flow of the conversation going.
  7. Special comment for Bikemonkey:
Hey, I think this thing actually works. Let me know if I am doing this right as
    I am a Blog Virgin.Bikemonkey
    - in a Lycra wearing male dominated bicycler blog, there is no need for "virgin" references - maybe that is what showering in the military does to a guy. You might scare us from riding in a pack with you - or you could possibly be forced to the front of the pack for the full 100 miles (for our peace of mind).

Word.

Such big words from a man who rides a bicycle that says Playskool on the side of it. Did you get that at Myfirstbicycle.com?
